It's Monday...Again!

The weekends just seem to go too quickly. How is it that it's Monday, again??? I saw a sign on Pinterest the other day that said 'Monday has been cancelled.' Wouldn't that be nice??

I have a couple of things to share today. This first page was done for Emma's a couple of weeks ago. We had to create something inspired by a song. I chose the song 'Beauty in the World' by Macy Gray. I love it. (Find it on Youtube if you don't know it!) I had this photo of the Weeping Willow trees in our neighborhood in blossom and decided to scrap that.  For about two weeks every spring our neighborhood is just brilliant in pink. Between those trees and the Cherry Blossoms it's gorgeous! (Downside is that is when Ryan's allergies completely kick in!)

I used a lot of American Crafts goodies on this one. Love the colors from the Peachy Keen Fellow and Garden Party lines.
I decided to pull out my watercolors and created the frame around the edge of the photo.

It is somewhat 'messier' than my normal pages. But, I'm trying to get my 'artsy' going, so I went with it. :)

Next up is this card that I did for Emma's this week. I used some Crate Random and a bunch of rhinestones.

You can see the supply list HERE.
That's it for today. Gotta run and head out to work. Have a great day and thank for stopping by!

Crate Storyteller

Hi! Today I have a couple of things that I did this week using the Crate Storyteller line. I did them for a couple of challenges, which I haven't been able to fit in recently. It was fun! This first page fits Dawn's challenge over at Studio Calico. During Spring Break we took Ryan to New York for the day. He'd heard about Nintendo World (it's a big store filled with video game stuff - a nine year old's dream) and had to go. So, we hopped on a bus trip and off we went. He'd gotten some birthday money, so with that in hand we visited the big Toys R Us in Times Square, Nintendo World, the Lego store and an M and M store.

In between the shopping, we hit the Empire State building. He and I braved the lines and went to the top. It was great! I hadn't been there in forever and it was so fun taking him for the first time.
I saved our tickets and the brochure and decided to use this glassine bag to hold them. I embellished it using some journaling cards, stickers, etc.
And now I have our memorabilia all tucked away. I love glassine bags!

This next card was done for the 'airmail' Pinspo challenge over at the Nook. I absolutely love this airmail striped paper! I cut the flowers with my silhouette and the rest came together perfectly!
The tag is Elle's Studio. I recently won a challenge at Two Peas and they sent me this huge box of goodies as my prize! I'm in heaven! You will definitely be seeing their tags on lots of my projects. :)

So, that's it for today! Thanks, as always, for stopping by!

Smile Maker

So, we have been involved in the world of orthodontics for the last six months. Ryan started off with a palette expander and we will probably be doing other work down the line. Luckily, we really like our orthodontist and Ryan hasn't given us too much of a hassle about going each month. I took this photo one day not too long ago for my Photo of the Day. So, I figured it warranted it's own page so we could document this experience in his life.

This page was inspired by Webster's Pages Guest Designer, Nic Howard. I love the way she uses corrugated cardboard on her pages and how she has lots of layering. I started off using lots of WP Everyday Poetry goodies. I layered the photo on the cardboard and added hand cut papers, gems, some Elle's Studio tags and a Princess Petal.
I used lots of foam adhesive to create the layers. I really think I need to buy stock in that stuff.
And since I've decided that I want to do more stamping on my page, I pulled out my MME stamps and played. It was so much fun!

Speaking of Webster's. If you haven't been to the blog, you need to head over there.  Last week was Brandin's birthday and we all created cards for her. Now they are hosting a card challenge. All you need ot do is create a card using Webster's gems and Bloomers. Details are on the blog. You could win a collection of your choice!

My card uses lots of Sunday Picnic goodies and an Elle's Studio tag. (Can you tell I'm addicted to these right now!!!)

So, that's it for today. Busy week ahead, as always. Hope you have a wonderful day and thanks, as always, for stopping by!

Cards

Well, we went from me being sick to Ryan being sick! That on top of his allergies have made him a not so happy boy. At least he was healthy for his birhtday. Spring break was exctended a couple of days for him this year. He's finally heading back to school today and hopefully things will get back to normal around here. I have to admit, though, being home with him was nice yesterday. We did a little project that I'll be sharing next week and we just layed around a lot. I don't have too many of those kinds of days. :)

I thought I'd share some cards today, since I haven't done that much lately. I'm finding that I just can't bring myself to make many cards right now as I have sooooooooo many sitting in baskets in my scraproom. I need to find something to do with them!

In any case, here are some that have been on Emma's blog recently.

This one was done for a color challenge. I used Crate papers, OA flags, We R Memory Keepers chipboard, Jillibean sticker and May Arts ribbon.

This next card uses a lot of Echo Park's This and That and OA Sassparilla.

I created this next card using the same sketch as the one above. This time I made a feminine version of it using Webster's Let's Celebrate line. I cut the flowers with my Silhouette.

I added some sparklers to top them off. I love how versatile those embellishments are!

So, that's it for today. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Hexagons

Well, Spring Break week is winding down. It's gone so quickly! Actually, it's been more of 'Ryan's Birthday Week' than anything else. His birthday was Monday. We took a great day trip to New York on Wednesday and he got to spend his money at the giant Toys R Us in Times Square and at Nintendo World! We also went to the top of the Empire State Building. And today we are having 17 friends for a Laser Tag party. He's been in heaven. I've been sick. LOL. I've had a nasty cold, so all I've wanted to do is lay around. Haven't gotten much of anything done. But that's ok. We've been 'chill-axin'!

I have a fun page to share today. Did this one recently using lots of  new My Mind's Eye "Follow Your Heart" collection. I decided to go with the hexagon craze and really like the result.

I love the smaller hexagons in the background and then I cut more out to layer on top of them. I added some with foam adhesive for dimension.
The title was cut with my Silhouette and I added some Pink Paislee and Studio Calico wood veneers, too.
Well, off to enjoy my last day of Spring Break and to get ready for the birthday party tonight! Thanks for stopping by! :)

Happy Easter!

The food is prepped, the Bunny has been here and the house is clean (kind of). Everything is quiet right now...It's a beautiful Easter morning. We will be heading out to church in a bit. Easter Sunday mass is my favorite of the year. The church is always decorated so spectacularly and it's a joyous occasion to celebrate. A wonderful time of renewal.

Just wanted to pop on and post a page I did recently, since I haven't gotten anything up in a bit. I did this page for the Webster's Blog. The photo was taken LAST Easter. One of our favorite traditions is the backyard egg hunt.

I used Webster's Palm beach line on here along with gems from the Western Romance line. The trim is also Western Romance. I did a tutorial on the WP blog if you want details on how to recreate them.

I also layered in some Elle's Studio tags. Just love those. I backed the round ones with Martha Stewart doily tags.
Cutting apart the gems is one of my favorite techniques. Here I sprinkled them onto the page and used them as flower toppers.

I'll be taking more of the same shot this year. But the boy is a lot taller and thankfully, I managed to get him a haircut this year. Well, I cut it (and he hates it) but at least it's shorter, LOL.

For all of you who celebrate, have a blessed and joyous Easter!
Thanks for stopping by. :)

Blueprints!

I just watched the new video by Webster's Pages showcasing their new journals. You have to see. This is such a cool idea! I've often thought I'd like to do Project Life, but I don't know if I can keep up with it. And I'd like to add more journaling to my pages, but I can never figure out how. Well, I think I have finally figured out a way to combine the best of both worlds. Check it out:

I can't wait to get my first journal!

Head over to the Webster's Blog for more information. I love the fact that they will have daily prompts. Can't wait to see what people do with Blueprints!

Here is my latest Webster's page that I have to share with you. I made it using Game On.

I cut the arrows and the title using my Silhouette.
And I added lots of gems. I LOVE those.
This was about how we found some Skylanders at Toys R Us. Those things are HARD to find. :)

Well, thanks, as always for stopping by. Have a great day.
